At Livingston & Wester Inch Karate Club
our gradings are held around every three to four months.
Students have to
demonstrate Kihon, Kata, and Kumite
to a high level to achieve their grade. Grades/belt colours are split into
ten Kyu grades (Thirteen if 8 years and under).

Once a student
achieves 6th Kyu we recommend a minimum of two classes per week are attended
to ensure sufficient progress is made to achieve their next grades.
When a student achieves 1st Kyu
the rules of grading
change and they must must have the agreement of a club
instructor before they may sit their next grading.
Higher Dan grades are more
complex, the training time extends over a longer period.
